My first product launch flopped. Don’t do what I did.

I remember the first time I tried to launch a product to my audience… it did NOT go well.

I was running a blog at the time and a publishing company reached out to tell me they thought I should write a book.

I thought, “Sure, why not?

I was already writing content full-time on my blog and thought it’d be cool to write a book to both help my audience and generate recurring revenue with it.

I spent a year working on it with an editor, the publishing company, and an entire team. I designed covers and had lots of tedious work to do to get everything to print and got ready for launch day.

Launch day came and went and after a couple of months, I sold less than 10 copies.

And the publishing company ended up with a pallet of books in their warehouse.

I will never forget the lesson I learned from working SO hard on something that completely tanked.

Just because you have an audience, it doesn’t mean people will buy from you.

It’s more important to create the right product for the right audience.

I should have done WAY more testing before launching that book to see if it was something my audience even wanted before putting that much time, energy, and resources into it.

I don’t want what happened to me to happen to you. Here are some ways you can figure out how to create a product your audience actually wants and will be willing to buy from you.

  1. Always test your ideas first. Before investing your time and money into creating a product or service to sell to your audience, make sure they actually want it. You could do this through a crowdfunding campaign, remarketing campaign, or through surveys.
  2. Work in small iterations. Once you have an idea of a product your audience would be interested in, don’t create the whole thing all at once. If you’re working with something like a course or a program, you just need to create the next step for your customers and test it out with them. Get feedback, see what’s working and what’s not, and move on to creating the next segment for them. Once your product (or the whole system) is complete, you can go back and tweak it.
  3. Learn how to sell. There are plenty of products out there that you know about, but probably have no desire to buy or there at least isn’t a sense of urgency for you to buy them. The art of selling (in a non-sleazy way) is something that intimidates a lot of creatives. We don’t want to come across like a sleazy sales person, so we aren’t talking about our art, products, and services as much as we probably should be… or we’re not going about it the right way…

…that’s why my team and I worked together to create this resource to help you learn how to sell (in a way that feels organic and aligned with your values and what you’re about).

We’ll teach you how to create a product that your audience will actually buy and how to sell it.

We’ll walk you through our exact sales script we’ve used to create a 7-figure business.

And we’ll give it to you for free.
