For this week’s YouTube Q&A we answer a question about how to evaluate and measure the success of your YouTube channel. It’s easy to look at our subscriber growth rate and think that because we’re getting a certain number of new subscribers every month that we’re doing well or poorly. However, there are several variables to consider if we’re going to use that metric to measure success. For example, what niche you’re targeting, how often you publish new videos, and how old your channel is.
But there’s probably better metrics to use in our YouTube analytics that can tell us a bit better how our videos and our channel are performing. We talk about what some of those things are, including how many non-subscribers your channel converts into new subscribers, audience retention, how many people are unsubscribing, and more.
