When Evan was working on growing his channel to 1 million subscribers, he tested a lot of different video lengths. He found that the more value he could provide in a video, the better it tended to perform. That’s not to say that longer videos will perform better than shorter ones — both can have success on YouTube — but for Evan he found that offering more value rather than less value in his videos made them longer and thus helped them perform better for his audience.
