It’s rumored that YouTube will launch their paid subscription service in October. It will give YouTube the ability to remove ads from the site for paying customers, splitting the portion of their fee that goes to creators among those based on how much watch time they give to each creator in each month. Most channels have opted in to the updated terms of service, but YouTube is doing a final push to get the rest of the channels to opt-in also or lose monetization on their channel.
