I hope you’re having a great start to your New Year! There’s a lot going on here at Video Creators – like the start of our Video Labs course and a brand new series we’re starting called Creator Stories.

But that’s another story for another time….

Today I want to share the power of getting YouTube to work FOR you. I want to share how you can get your videos to be suggested by YouTube, so you can leverage more organic growth and get your videos in front of the right audience.

At Video Creators, we’ve found that explosive growth rarely comes from search, but instead from suggested videos and the home page!

YouTube suggests videos because they believe that the next video that they’re surfacing for the viewer is the video they’ll most likely want to watch because they watched a similar video previously.

YouTube’s goal is to keep viewers on the platform as long as possible.

One of the best ways we’ve found you can predict what videos will keep viewers on the platform longer (being more “bingeable” in nature) is by looking at the end screen elements shown metric in your YouTube analytics.

This metric shows you what percentage of the people that clicked “play” got to the end of your video.

Another helpful metric to study in your analytics is “end screen elements clicked”. This indicates how many people got to the end of the video AND clicked on an end screen.

The more people we can get to end of our videos to click and watch another one of our videos, that video is more likely to become suggested via YouTube. You actually have the power to influence YouTube’s suggestions! How cool is that?

BONUS TIP: If you can get your viewer to click on a playlist instead of just a single video, you can craft an effective viewing session for your viewer. And now your videos are way more likely to become suggested to each other!

I hope these tips help you to get the results you’re looking for and experience explosive growth!

Can’t wait to see how you grow.

Keep changing lives,

Tim
