Did you know that after someone uses your fan funding feature on your channel and submits a couple dollar donation here and there, you can show a custom YouTube video just to them that thanks them for their contribution. I’m going to show you exactly how to set that up.

Let’s talk about the fan funding thing because I have been experimenting with that. I add it as an interactive card usually in the beginning-ish part of almost every video I do now here on Video Creators. And I don’t get a lot of traction, but I do see that there are continually people here and there just contributing, hopefully because you enjoy the awesome value that I’m trying my best to provide to you and you guys want to help support that and keep this channel going, which I really appreciate.

And so I show a custom, unlisted thank you video to the people who do donate and contribute to help keep this channel going. And I’m going to take you to my desktop and show you exactly where you can set this up for your own contributors on your channel. So come over here to your Creator Studio. Go down to the Community. Click on that. And then click on Fan Funding. And you’ll see this page right here.

First of all, explain what your goals are to your viewer. I’m just going to put this in here. I do find you do you have to put something in here. I mean, you can leave it blank, but it has problems saving if you leave it at the default. So change. Put something else here. “Support us so we can help you grow on YouTube.” That shows up next to your info card and other places on your channel along with this button.

And then thank the fans who have supported you. I have text right now. I’m going to switch this to a video. I just uploaded this video about a half hour ago. Let me just make sure that it’s unlisted. I’m going to click Save. And that will save this video.

And then all I have to do is go up here, click this button, click Save. And boom, all changes are saved. And now this is the video that will appear after people support you on your channel.

What I want to hear from you guys in the comments below is what things would you include in this thank you video to people who support your channel with a contribution? What I did in mine is basically say, thank you, made a big deal of it. And I said why I’m thankful, what I hope it will help this channel continue to achieve, and third, I invited those people to comment on that video. Because the only people who will see that video are people who have actually supported this channel. And so I asked them to comment so that I can make sure I do my best to respond to all those comments and just say thank you personally and also so I can get a look at who the channel avatar icon is so that when I see them commenting in other places on future videos, I know like, oh, that person supports this channel financially. And it just help me have a different kind of relationship with that person kind of on this channel.

So those are the things I included in my video. If you want to see it, you can support this channel and find out. But that’s basically what I said in it. And I’m really looking forward to hearing what you guys said in the comments. And maybe you guys will point out something that I really need to go back and redo that whole video. I don’t know.
