I love that I’m able to work on projects like this and enjoy my free time instead of being a slave to my desk and working on the Video Creator’s Channel all hours of the day.

I know some of you may be in that place. You are desperately wanting your channel to grow, so you can have the time and financial freedom to create full time and still have time outside of creating content to work on your own hobbies.

We’re always trying to help creators grow at Video Creators, but we wanted to grab some insight from some fellow creators and experts in the YouTube space. We asked them this:

What should creators focus on for YouTube success?

This is what they had to say:

  1. Set aside time for YouTube. Evan Carmichael sets aside an entire day per week to dedicate to growing his YouTube channel. You could film your videos on this day, reply to comments, come up with video ideas, or even learn how to be a better editor, filmmaker, or storyteller!
  2. Doing research. Sean Cannell spends the majority of his time working on his YouTube Channel doing research to see what works and resonates best with his audience. He might do keyword research, poll his audience, or review his comments to see what his viewers are wanting to see.
  3. Creating AMAZING titles and thumbnails. Titles and thumbnails MATTER. It’s the first encounter potential viewers have with you and can compel them to click on your videos or scroll right past them. There are free videos online, online courses, and ways to learn how to make better, more enticing thumbnails and titles on YouTube.
  4. Studying analytics. Watch time is king on YouTube. This is the amount of time viewers will watch your video. The higher watch time you have on a video, the more likely it is to be suggested by YouTube and ranked at the top of search. Creators like Antonio Centeno study HOW they can get people watching longer.
