There’s been rumors and speculation about Amazon going up against YouTube to complete in the short-form video market and today we start to have a glimpse of what that could look like. The initial version is pretty limited — there’s no share buttons nor embed code, but the revenue model is pretty clear. While ads are displayed against the video content, there’s also a lot of products displayed around the video that are associated with the video’s content. For example, if you’re watching a music video, you’ll see the album to buy on Amazon. If you’re watching video game play, you’ll see the video game for sale.
