Is it better to embed your YouTube video into a post on your website and then promote that link or to send people directly to YouTube to see the video? The answer depends on what your goals are on YouTube, but overall it’s probably better to send viewers to YouTube to watch the video and here’s why.
I got a kick out of the title of one of the videos in the background of your thumbnail. “This is how men think ****** work”.
I am trying to figure out how to turn video views into newsletter sign ups. I have a few videos that account for over 3K views per day and I want to start capturing those viewers as email subscribers. I do get a good amount of youtube subscribers from those videos but as youtube subscribers I don’t control whether they end up seeing when I post videos because they may or may not check their subscriptions or they may be subscribed to hundreds of channels.
I figure if I can get them to come to my website and sign up for a newsletter I can set up some auto-responders to help introduce them to more of my content and “convert” them to loyal followers. What are your thoughts.
By the way, I still haven’t purchased your latest book but I plan on it when my financial situation is a little more certain. Do you have an affiliate program for your latest book? I have a post on my blog that gets some traffic titled how to make money on youtube.
Oh wow, lol! I didn’t even look at the thumbnail titles. Lesson learned!
Yeah, controlling your own audience is pretty important. To get them on an email list, you obviously need to promote one first and then entice them to sign-up for something that’s valuable to them. For you guys, maybe it’s private “behind the scenes” clips or something, I don’t know. I do like your idea for autoresponders, though.
