A lot of people get into YouTube thinking this space will eventually compete with television for its advertising dollars, but it’s probably not coming. YouTube money, will sufficient for some, can never match TV money because on TV people will see almost 1 minute of advertising for every minute of actual programming. That kind of ad density doesn’t work here on YouTube. Combine that with the fact that YouTube’s CPMs are consierably lower than television CPMs, there doesn’t seem to be a way that YouTube revenue can compete with TV revenue.
